What about my drain pipes? Do they have to be replaced also?
No, your drainpipes, or leaders do not have to be replaced, however, most homeowners do replace their leader with their new gutters, so that everything is new. Furthermore, most people want to up grade there leader to our new heavy gauge 3x4” leader.
What type of guarantee do I get with Englert LeafGuard gutters?
Englert LeafGuard gutters come with a 20-year guarantee against chipping, cracking and peeling. In addition, you are guaranteed 5 years on any installation defects. This guarantee, however, is not valid for any damage caused by external factors such as a tree branch falling and bending the gutter. The most valuable part of your guarantee is that Englert LeafGuard gutters come with a lifetime guarantee against clogging.
Does Englert LeafGuard really work? I have a lot of pine needles and oak moss.
Yes, our product really works and our knowledgeable estimators can answer all of your questions concerning how our gutter actually works. When the estimator meets with you he or she will bring a sample of our gutter and will show you how it works. Currently, Englert LeafGuard has installed 10 million feet of gutter across the U.S.A.
Does it cause ice to build up?
Our gutter is designed to shed any solid material that lands on the hood, without clogging or impeding the centripetal flow of water through the gutter. Icicles may form on the gutter because the gutter is designed to shed any solid material off the hood enabling the gutter to catch and drain the water properly. Eventually the icicles will naturally melt away do to an increase in temperature or direct sunlight, without causing any clogging or damage to your gutter. Neither debris nor ice will prevent the Englert LeafGuard gutter system from functioning properly do to its excellent design.
Our gutters do not cause ice damming and when the estimator comes out he or she will explain this in more detail. If in the past you have had problems with ice damming be sure to point this out to the estimator so that we can better customize your Englert LeafGuard gutter system to fit your needs.
How do I clean the Englert LeafGuard gutter system?
The key advantage to the Englert LeafGuard gutter system is it's maintenance-free operation. This means you will never have to clean out the gutter system under normal conditions. If by some chance debris does get into the gutter system, we will clean out the system free of charge.
How long does it take to install the Englert LeafGuard gutter system?
Most jobs are completed in less than one day and it is not necessary that you be home while your gutters are being installed.
Does Englert LeafGuard come in different colors?
Yes, you will be given a pamphlet containing the 13 possible colors Englert LeafGuard gutters and the leaders are available in. There is no additional charge for color choices.
Do I have to be home for the estimate?
Although it is not necessary that you be home during the time of your estimate, it would be in your best interest if you were home when the estimator writes up the estimate. This gives you a chance to ask any questions you may have concerning leaf guard gutters and the installation of the gutters. In addition, the estimator will be able to go over the layout of your drainage system.
